JCSNE Fairfield County Wine Tour

DiGrazia Wine

On Sunday, 19th April JCSNE will be holding our first wine tour of the year; a chance to blow the cobwebs out of our cars and to taste the first wines from last fall’s harvest. As usual, this first winery tour of the year will be in Fairfield county.

We will be starting the winery tour at 9:30 am with hot Coffee and Doughnuts in the parking lot at Coldwell Banker Frascatore Realty in Shelton (courtesy of Micheal Frascatore, one of our members). We will leave Shelton in convoy at 10:15am, heading North to Newtown, and the DiGrazia winery which opens at 11am.

After some leisurely tasting, and probably some stories from Dr DiGrazia, we will head West, over to the Mezon Tapas Bar & Restaurant in Danbury.

MezonMezon (Tavern) is a Spanish Tapas restaurant, where you can either snack or enjoy a series of Spanish Tapas.Although a relatively new restaurant, they have already been named the Best Latin American, Best Brunch + Best Cocktails in CT Magazine's 2014 Readers Choice poll.

After eating in true Mediterranean style, we will then head back to Shelton, and to Jones Winery, close to where we started for more wine tasting.

We have tried to select roads that have survived the winter relatively intact, so our route doesn't cover as many of the obscure back roads as it has in the past. This map shows the route we plan to take, though we may make some minor changes before the day

We hope you can join us on this trip – please register as soon as possible, as we need to let Mezon know how many to expect for lunch. We will also be sending out an email to everyone registered for this event a day or two before with final details.
