NW Connecticut Fall Winery Tour

On Sunday 19th October, JCSNE will be holding our traditional winery tour through the hills of the NW Corner.
For those who have not joined us before, the plan is to visit a couple of wineries (one in the morning, and one in the afternoon), with lunch between. We deliberately take the longer, more scenic route between locations so we can do what Jaguar intended - drive our cars!
We have a new start location this year - the Dunkin' Donuts in Harwinton (Dunkin', 122 Litchfield Rd, Harwinton, CT 06791). We will meet there at 9:45, and leave on our first drive along the back roads North to New Hartford at 10:15am
The 2025 NW Corner Winery Tour will start in Harwinton at the Dunkin’ (next to the post office, and over the road from the Harwinton Consolidated School.
The route we take is not the most direct, and we will drive in convoy. If you would like to follow the directions, click on the ‘Route Map’ links in the description below on your phone. If you have ‘Google Maps’ installed these will provide directions; occasionally we will pass a waypoint (I use these to force Google to take the scenic route) – just click ‘continue to next stop’ when it pops up on your phone.
If you become separated from the group, or just want to take the more direct route, just use the street addresses included below.
For lunch we will be eating from the regular menu at the Painted Pony, and separate checks are ok – please just make sure the server knows who will be on your check.

9:45am Meet at the Dunkin’ in Harwinton (122 Litchfield Rd, Harwinton, CT 06791). Alternatively, you could park on directly opposite in the school driveway (this gives you a right-hand turn when we depart, which is easier, but be careful crossing the road for coffee and bathrooms.
10:15am Depart Dunkin’ (turning LEFT out of the parking lot onto 118). It is safest to use the exit with the flashing traffic light. We will follow this route to Jerram Winery. (535 Town Hill Road, New Hartford Connecticut 06057)
10:40am Arrive Jerram Winery; park on the lawn and enjoy wine tasting!
11:45am Depart Jerram, and enjoy an hour's drive along the bucolic back roads of Litchfield county to the Painted Pony in Bethlehem (Google Route Map) (74 Main St S, Bethlehem, CT 06751)
12:45pm Arrive at the Painted Pony restaurant in Bethlehem for a casual lunch
2:00pm (approx.) Leave the Painted Pony, on a 15-minute drive to the Hawk Ridge Winery in Watertown (Route Map), Hawk Ridge Winery, 28 Plungis Rd, Watertown, CT 06795 (Google Route Map)
2:15pm (approx) Arrive at Hawk Ridge Winery , where we will relax for the rest of the afternoon, enjoying a glass of wine on the lawn
