Each year JCSNE organizes a driving tour of the NW Corner of CT, timed to coincide with the peak of the fall foliage colors. Along the way we stop to enjoy a couple of local wineries and lunch. We hope you will join us!

This year we will be meeting at the Dunkin' in Thomaston (369 E Main St, Thomaston, CT 06787, just off Route 8) at 9:45am, planning to leave at 10:15am for a scenic drive along the backroads to Jerram Winery where we will be greeted by mulled wine and warm apple cider donuts (many thanks to Barb and Herv for arranging those)

Once we leave the winery we will be headed North, up to Massachusetts to the New Boston Inn where we will enjoy lunch in a private room (from their regular menu, perhaps with some minor modifications). For those who don't know it, Barbara (the owner of the Inn) loves having classic cars and motorcycles visit (today there was an immaculate 56' Chevy in the parking lot).  The New Boston Inn is a historic inn at the junction of Massachusetts Routes 8 and 57 in the center of the village of Sandisfield, Massachusetts. Dating back to c. 1750, it is one of the oldest buildings in town, and a prominent example of Federal period architecture. It has served as a stop for weary travelers for over two centuries.

After lunch we will head to a new to JCSNE location - Daggers Meadery in Granville, MA. Daggers is a working farm, apiary and Meadery - all served up with a Viking theme (for those who don't know, the Vikings drank Mead, a natural wine made from honey - and Daggers serve up several different handcrafted flavors, all made on the farm with local honey). With both indoor and outdoor seating, cozy firepits and disc golf there's lots of ways to hang out and simply relax, whatever the weather.

Here's our detailed itinerary: We may update this closer to the date, so check back for updates. We will also be emailing out a route map to everyone who is registered a day or two before.
